Imperial Security provides retail security guards for shops, boutiques and market traders across Pimlico, covering everything from the high-value design showrooms on Pimlico Road to the independent stalls on Tachbrook Street and the convenience stores along Warwick Way.
Our SIA-licensed guards handle entrance management, customer greeting, stock protection and incident response, so owners and managers can judge quickly whether our cover fits a single boutique, a market pitch or a multi-till store. Pimlico's retail mix is unusually varied for its size, and that variety shapes what a guard needs to know before they start a shift.
Pimlico Road is lined with antique dealers, interior design showrooms and galleries selling furniture, fireplaces, sculpture and decorative objects, often at prices that make a single item worth more than a week's takings on a typical high street. Tachbrook Street Market, a short walk away, is a different environment entirely: around twenty stalls trading fruit, vegetables, fish, clothing and street food six days a week in a pedestrianised strip. A guard who works well on Pimlico Road, quiet, formal, comfortable around expensive stock, is not automatically suited to the market, where the job is more about crowd flow, stallholder relationships and keeping walkways clear.
We staff both settings and brief guards accordingly before the first shift. For showrooms this means handling appointment-only visitors and high-net-worth clients discreetly; for the market and the convenience stores on Warwick Way it means a visible, approachable presence during the working day and around school and commuter hours near Pimlico station.

| What Our Pimlico Retail Security Service Provides
Whether you run a design showroom, a market stall or a corner shop, these six duties cover the core of what our guards do on site each day.
Entrance management and customer greeting
Our guards greet everyone who comes through the door, which sets a welcoming tone on Pimlico Road's appointment-led showrooms and keeps a natural check on who enters busier Warwick Way stores.
High-value stock protection
Antiques, sculpture and designer furniture need close, unobtrusive attention rather than a visible guard hovering by the till, and our guards are briefed to work that way.
Market and street trading support
On Tachbrook Street our guards help keep the pedestrianised strip clear, support stallholders during busy trading hours and watch for opportunist theft among the stalls.
CCTV and access monitoring
Guards check camera coverage on stockrooms and fitting areas and control access to staff-only and storage spaces during opening hours.
Conflict management
When a dispute or anti-social behaviour flares up, whether between customers or with a stallholder, our guards de-escalate calmly before it disrupts trade.
Incident logging and reporting
Every shift ends with a written log of incidents, near-misses and access issues, giving owners a clear record for insurance and operational review.
| Who We Provide Retail Security For In Pimlico
Pimlico's retail buyers range from single-owner boutiques to street market traders and convenience stores, each with a different reason to bring in a guard.
Design and antiques showrooms
Pimlico Road's galleries and interior design shops hold stock worth far more than the space suggests, and owners want a guard who can work discreetly around clients by appointment.
Market traders
Stallholders on Tachbrook Street trading fruit, fish, clothing and street food need a visible presence during trading hours to manage footfall and deter petty theft among open stalls.
Convenience stores and independent shops
Shops along Warwick Way serving commuters and residents near Pimlico station need cover through peak footfall periods without slowing down quick transactions.
Fashion and lifestyle boutiques
Smaller boutiques want a guard who can double as a customer-facing presence, supporting the brand's tone while still watching stock and fitting rooms.
We also cover corporate reception and warehouse sites for retailers with back-office or storage premises nearby in the same area.
| The Security Problems We Solve In Pimlico
Pimlico's retail mix has widened in recent years, with high-value design retail expanding on Pimlico Road at the same time as Tachbrook Street Market has drawn back office workers and weekday footfall. That combination brings enquiries that a single generic guard package does not answer well.
Discreet cover for high-value showrooms
A guard standing too close to a client browsing antique furniture can put off a genuine sale. We position guards to observe from a natural distance, stepping in only when needed.
Opportunist theft around open market stalls
Open-air stalls cannot lock stock away between customers. Our guards patrol the market strip during trading hours, giving stallholders a visible deterrent without slowing service.
Peak footfall around Pimlico station and Warwick Way
Commuter surges in the morning and evening put pressure on till queues and entrances. A guard managing the door keeps queues orderly and reduces the chance of theft in the crush.
Fitting room and stockroom access
Boutiques with fitting rooms and small stockrooms are vulnerable to concealment theft. Our guards manage access to these areas and coordinate with staff on stock checks.
